Before downloading, please read the description carefully!

By default, each character of Minecraft is designed in an 8 by 8 grid. Therefore, they look thick and large.

If non-ASCII characters are mixed in a sentence, all characters will use Unicode Font. The characters in each Unicode Font are designed in a 16 by 16 grid, so they look thin.

This also leads to the problem of inconsistent fonts in different situations.

Due to the popularity of high-resolution displays, Unicode Font will also look rough.

Therefore, this resource pack was made so that you can see more beautiful, smooth and modern fonts.

• HD Version: There are 5 major versions, and the font is taken from the Noto Sans font family commissioned by Google.

• Basic Version: There are 2 major versions.

As Chinese characters have different standards in different countries or regions, as well as different screen resolutions, 7 versions have been specially designed, namely HD-Chinese version, HD-Taiwanese version, HD-Hong Kong version, HD-Japanese version, HD-Korean version, Basic-Chinese version and Basic-Japanese version.

Please observe the following picture carefully, and you will find some differences in the writing of some characters:

Due to different screen resolutions, there will be different display effects in different situations. Please see the picture below:

Please choose to install the Basic version or the HD version according to the actual situation. If you choose the wrong version, the interface font may become blurry or rougher.

The format of the resource pack file name is "modern_font_pack_be_<Smoothing Type>_<CJK Type>_v<Number>.mcpack" (or the ZIP file), where:

1. <Smoothing Type> field:

• "hd" represents that the resource pack is the HD version.
• "basic" represents that the resource pack is the Basic version.

2. <CJK Type> field:

• "cn" represents that the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in China.
• "hk" represents that the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Hong Kong.
• "jp" represents that the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Japan.
• "kr" represents that the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Korean.
• "tw" represents that the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Taiwan.

3. The <Number> field will be represented by three digits. The first digit is used to distinguish the pack formats of different resource pack. The second and third digits start from 00. Every time it is updated, the number will increase by 1:

• The first digit 1 means that the resource pack is suitable for version 1.14.60 and below.
• The first digit 2 means that the resource pack is suitable for version 1.16.0 and above.

For example:

1. If you want to use the resource pack that is the HD version, can be used in version 1.14.60, and the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in China, the file to be downloaded is "modern_font_pack_be_hd_cn_v116.mcpack"  (or the ZIP file).
2. If you want to use the resource pack that is the HD version, can be used in version 1.17.11, and the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Japan, the file to be downloaded is "modern_font_pack_be_hd_jp_v216.mcpack"  (or the ZIP file).
3. If you want to use the resource pack that is the Basic version, can be used in version 1.13.3, and the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in China, the file to be downloaded is "modern_font_pack_be_basic_cn_v116.mcpack"  (or the ZIP file).
4. If you want to use the resource pack that is the Basic version, can be used in version 1.16.221, and the Chinese characters are designed according to the Chinese character standard in Japan, the file to be downloaded is "modern_font_pack_be_basic_jp_v216.mcpack"  (or the ZIP file).

If your country or region does not use Chinese characters, you do not need to pay attention to the Chinese character standard in the <CJK Type> field. You just need to pay attention to the <Smoothing Type> field and the <Number> field.

Future Development

• Overcome the issue of the Noto Sans CJK fonts being blurry or having incorrect strokes at low resolutions to develop the KR, HK and TW variants in the Basic version. In addition, the WenQuanYi Micro Hei font used by the CN variant and the IPAexGothic font used by the JP variant will also be discarded. They will all use the Noto Sans CJK fonts instead.
• If the above problems are overcome, a resource pack using Noto Serif fonts may be developed for users who prefer serif fonts.
