BestGamer’s Minecraft Overhaul Addon (1.21 Support Update!)
Honestly, I enjoy vanilla Minecraft survival, but there’s a lot of changes I would personally make to it. Lot’s of removed or unused content I would like to bring into the game, plenty of general quality of life features, and especially more End content. So that’s what my goal is for this addon! It’ll try to improve your experience across all 3 dimensions, with new blocks, mobs, ores, structures and more! There’s quite a lot to go through with this so I’ve separated each dimension into it’s own section. Get ready for a deep dive!
Three new types of flower have been added to the Overworld! The Antler Orchid is a flower found in Taiga biomes (including the mega variant) and can be made into brown dye.

The Butterfly Rose generates in Flower Forests, Meadows and Mangrove Swamps. It’s based off an old removed flower from the older pocket editions, you can use it to create cyan dye!

Both of these flowers can be purchased from wandering traders, used to pollinate/breed bees and be used to craft Suspicious Stew!
In forests and cherry groves, you might find boulders of Mossy Cobblestone and Moss Blocks sometimes. They mostly just serve as decorations but also have a Petunia on it, a new type of flower that can produce white dye! Petunias can also be found in all forest types too!

Within the forests also, there’s a new mob! The Snare is a pretty small, snouted creature that often spawns in big groups and has a liking for any type of flower, some of which they bear on top of them - They will also stay within a certain radius of any flower nearby. You can feed them any flower and tame them, making them follow you around for as long as they want! At least until you sit them down. Snares also produce Green Dye on random intervals, and will drop some if killed. Please don’t do that second thing though…

Copper Nuggets can be made from a Copper Ingot or found in Shipwreck chests, one of their purposes is to turn back into full copper ingots...

...though, you can also use them to create decorative copper variants of chains and lanterns!

Speaking of chains, I always thought they were too expensive, so now the recipe creates 3 chains. Just thought that would be a cool addition!

Beware while on your travels, it’s said that not every rabbit you encounter is what it may seem… Some might end up being a Ravenous Rabbit! Based off of the unused Killer Bunny mob from Java Edition but with a morbid new design, they will spawn rarely in place of a regular Rabbit, more commonly at night. Though quite small and not having much health, they will chase you relentlessly and deal pretty serious damage as well as having an attack that disables shields, so it can be bad news to encounter one earlier on. If killed, they will drop the same things as a normal Rabbit with also sometimes an added Rabid Fang! Ravenous Rabbits will also attack Wolves, Ocelots, Cats and Foxes, all the mobs that usually hunt rabbits, but only Wolves will actively come after them as well.

Rabid Fangs have a special use on them - that of which is that they can create a new weapon called the Amethyst Shatterer. Combine them with Amethyst Shards, Iron Ingots and a Rusted Horn from Roxens to make the shatterer which may serve interesting to you! This melee weapon deals only 6 damage and doesn't have the best durability, but it will stun anything you strike it with on hit and also gives you some damage resistance so it works for both offensive and defensive purposes! You also may very rarely find a damaged Amethyst Shatterer from brushing away the gravel in Trail Ruins as well, so that could be very helpful if you happen to.

Those pesky Silverfish found underground have received their own new drop: the Silverfish Scale! With these scales, you can stick them together with your now increased number of chains to create some Chainmail Armor!

Additionally, you can feed these scales to Armadillos and even use them to brew Potions of Haste. These can help you mine faster but don’t have a long effect duration, so hunting a few silverfish down may be necessary to fully utilise this!

If you’re an enthusiast of throwing things, then don’t worry as we have you covered! All of the different potions across this addon can be brewed into splash versions which can be thrown to splash the effect onto multiple entities at once. There’s splash versions for all the strengthened and extended variants too, allowing you to truly go nuts with these potions!

Onto general quality of life changes, Husks and Drowned have their own rotten flesh drop, respectively Smouldering Flesh and Sunken Flesh. Husks have also been rebalanced a bit to be tougher and larger but slower, making them a bit tankier then normal zombies, but killing them can yield you Sand and Poisonous Potatoes!

Sunken Flesh can still be fed to dogs and used to trade with Cleric Villagers, but Smouldering Flesh is so burnt that neither see any use in it and won’t except it. Sunken Flesh can be smelted into normal rotten flesh, which you can now also smelt into leather!

You can now make all three types of flesh into compact blocks, which can be turned back into their respective flesh. These don’t do too much other than create a pretty morbid decoration, but they can also be fed to Wolves and Zombie Horses to heal them quite a lot and be used to breed Roxens. Piles of Sunken Flesh Blocks can be found on the ocean floor sometimes, which is pretty gross.

It seems we’re talking a lot about zombies here, so why not bring back a zombie creature that has been unused for almost a decade? The Zombie Horse has been introduced into normal survival with this addon! They will spawn at night in plains and savanna biomes, where horses normally spawn, and may sometimes appear being ridden by a zombie so watch out!

Zombie Horses can be tamed and bred with rotten, sunken and smouldering flesh as well as blocks, and ridden with a saddle. They move pretty fast, including underwater, but don’t have much health and will burn in the sun, so they’re more of a creature to go out at night since they will not be attacked by monsters. These horses are pretty vicious though: they will actively attack and attempt to kill anything that lives, from animals to villagers, so be careful where you put them! On normal and hard difficulties, horses killed by zombie horses can become other zombie horses, spreading the virus further! Iron Golems and Snow Golems see Zombie Horses as a threat to life and will try to dispatch of them, so keep those away if you want your Zombie Horses about. If a Zombie Horse has the weakness effect, you can feed it a golden carrot and it will cure into a normal horse again so that is nice!

Nutrition is very, very important for you. You gotta make sure you eat your fruits and vegetables to get those vitamins, minerals, ect… So that’s why this addon introduces a new crop to the game: Tomatoes! Tomato Seeds can be purchased from Wandering Traders or Farmer Villagers, and you can also find Tomatoes growing in village farms alongside other crops. After a bit of growing, Tomatoes will be ready for harvesting when you can see them visually on the plant that grows! You can eat them, feed them to pigs or feed the seeds to chickens and parrots. If your tomatoes are growing too slow, you can bonemeal them like other crops to skip the process!

You can also make a bowl of salad! With a bowl, a carrot, a potato, a beetroot, a tomato and any colour of mushroom, you can make a bowl of salad that has some pretty good nutrition. It’s got all of your five a day in it!

As questionable the use of this feature may be, you can now craft 9 pieces of Charcoal into a block. It’s just a fun novelty feature really and makes it more on par with regular Coal, plus maybe you could use the block for a charred vibe in a build.

With this addon, there also comes a rework of a vanilla item - the Trident. Or at least how you obtain it is reworked, since now Drowned with Tridents will no longer ever have a chance to drop a full Trident. Instead though, they will have a 100% chance to drop a Trident Piece which can be combined with some Prismarine Shards and a Heart of the Sea to create your trident. These pieces are also obtainable from brushing suspicious sand in ocean ruins or from rare ocean chest loot, which makes the Trident actually obtainable in peaceful too!

Buried treasure chests have some cool contents, but overall they’re not the most useful structure in the game and aren’t for everyone. This addon however may change your opinion on that by introducing a new weapon that you can only find within these chests: the Coral Crusher! Being a super cool giant hammer covered in various corals, you may only find it by raiding these buried treasure chests though it has a low spawn chance. Though finding one is worth it, as though the hammer’s base damage may seem low, it not only has unlimited durability but also an area attack that damages all nearby mobs everytime you attack just one!

You like cute animals? Well if you do this addon has you further covered with the addition of a new one, the Wombat! This creature can be found roaming around in Jungle biomes, occasionally eating grass which you can use to breed and tempt them around. Like sheep, they also will eat grass off the ground sometimes only leaving dirt behind, and you can even occasionally shear the adult ones to gather some brown wool! They don’t drop anything if killed though, don’t kill them please.

Now we travel to the rather murky lands of the swamp. Some changes have occurred to the normal swamp: you can find patches of wet mud on the surface. A new mob found in both these places is the Wallower! Seeming to be related to some sort of pig, these creatures have spent a lot of time rolling in the mud. They still like eating carrots and potatoes, but also devour slimes, seeking out and eating any! They also might try to steal any planted carrots, potatoes, beetroots or tomatoes that are nearby, so these fellas can be a bit pesky. If you kill them, they drop slimeballs, pork and maybe some wet mud. They will also drop the flower on their body if you shear them, which isn‘t that useful but, you know, free flowers are free flowers right?

Still focusing on the swamps, the frogs have their own food drop now: a Frog Leg! While eating a raw one is rather dangerous, cooking one can make it safe for digestion. The face of a frog can also be carved onto some Chiseled Mud Bricks, or if you want a more ruined vibe, toss some bricks into a furnace to crack them! You can also find Cracked Mud Bricks within the sites of Trail Ruins, having been damaged by time.

If you find a swamp and feel like making some bricks, but aren’t bothered to get lot’s of wheat for it, fear not my friend! With the Wet Mud itself, you now can make some gross Wet Mud Bricks! If you do want some normal Mud Bricks after having done this, no worries, since combining Wet Mud Bricks with wheat creates normal Mud Bricks.

The Bogged are a pretty unpleasant mob in the swamps due to their poisonous arrows, but if you’re a fan of green and boney blocks then they should be slightly less unpleasant now. They now drop Murky Bones on death, which you can use to make Murky Bone Meal and then either Murky Bone Blocks or green dye, and another thing is that they can spawn riding on top of Wallowers so please be cautious of that.

Deep within Mangrove Swamps, you might find the ruins of a large structure made of mangrove bricks. Covered in leaves and cracked from time, this small structure is said to have a chest somewhere in it but also possesses some Cave Spiders and Bogged within - don’t get swarmed or hit by some other potential threats! Within the ruins you may sometimes find a new weapon named the Toxic Spear, which will poison anything you strike with it for extra damage!

If you choose to excavate some of the mangrove ruins, you will quickly find that the floor is covered in a bit of dirt. Seems normal, right? Well, some of that dirt might seem… suspicious, and if you’ve got a brush you got use it on some of that dirt to maybe find some extra treasures within!

In terms of small but cool nature updates, one of them is that you can now find patches of packed mud scattered across savanna biomes. This not only adds some nice detail, but can be really useful too if you want to create some mud bricks easily!

Underneath icebergs, you may see something swimming around now! It’s a new type of fish, named Haddock. The design for these fish are based on the old cod design from before the Aquatic Update so if they look familiar to you, that is why. The fish just behaves like the other regular fish and has the same properties: It can be picked up in a bucket, you can cook it and feed it to ocelots or cats. You can also catch Haddock from fishing with a rod sometimes, in case you can’t find icebergs!

A new type of rock now makes up some of the surface of the oceans, named Marine Rubble. What could this be? The remains of something much, much greater? Maybe… Either way, you can mine this stuff with a pickaxe and make it into Marinestone, which has a different pattern, or craft a lovely little Aquatic Illuminator when combined with Glow Squid ink and Sunken Flesh. This illuminator not only provides light, but will scare off any Drowned that come nearby! You can also obtain Marine Rubble as a junk item from fishing, making these blocks renewable. Marine Rubble, Marinestone and Aquatic Illuminators also make up ancient statues that can sometimes be found at the bottom of the sea. They look strangely like villagers…

Whilst still on the topic of aquatic updates, you can now make Chiseled Prismarine using some prismarine slabs! It’s just a cool little decorational block for your underwater builds with a nice pattern on it, and also spawns naturally in ocean monuments so you can find some of it there.

Want more fish? Well why didn’t you say so my friend! Go swimming or fishing within the waters of warmer biomes like Jungles, Badlands, Deserts and Mangrove Swamps and you’ll sooner or later stumble across some Bass. They’re not too different from the other fish in terms of behaviour or purpose, but they do restore quite a bit of hunger due to their enormous size which can be helpful in bulk amount.

Down deep within the flooded water caves, there are the remnants of ancient fish still floating about...Skeletal Swimmers! These are boney skeletal fish that are only found in water cave sources below y level 0, though you won’t ever find them swimming in Lush Cave waters. They usually just swim around the open waters, but they might try to bite you if you come close so watch out! You can also catch these in a bucket and release them later like other fish, but there’s a bug where you don’t get the water or bucket back when you empty them. Since they’re so small, on death they just drop several small shards that you can use to create a full sized bone if you have enough. Bone Shards can also be found in various structure chests and obtained as a junk item from fishing, or you can make a few by putting a bone into a stonecutter.

Still focusing on the caves, a more peaceful creature is the Orx, a vast species of gem-filled creature that roam the vast caverns. They come in 7 different vanilla variants: Iron, Amethyst, Lapis, Redstone, Gold, Diamond and Emerald and are pretty uncommon, mainly because they will produce their respective material over time, allowing them to help you renew these resources! Though if you wanna do that, you will have to catch them first, as they are rather shy and will flee if you or a monster comes close! Some orxes are found more in specific areas, for example Amethyst Orxes are much more common around Amethyst Geodes and Emerald Orxes will only spawn in mountain caves. If you kill one (meanie!), you can reap some minerals and stone blocks from them.

Dripstone blocks can now be crafted into their own block types! With 4 dripstone blocks you can make 4 polished dripstone, which you can subsequently make into dripstone bricks. The bricks have cracked, chiseled and mossy variants, as well as stairs, walls and slabs for the polished, brick and mossy brick variants!

Time to meet another new mob down in the caves, and unfortunately it’s not amywhere near as friendly as the last. These Dripstone Hobs can be found in, well, the dripstone caves, and will attack you on sight by charging at you for melee attacks with increased range. On top of that, they have another attack whey they can roar and cause stalactites to fall from above and crush you, so please watch out for that whilst in close quarters combat! They also can swim surprisingly well, and when you hit one it has a chance of curling up into a ball; when in a ball a hob takes significantly reduced damage from attacks and can still deal area damage with their spikes so beware! However, since they are made of dripstone, if you were to use a pickaxe on one it will mine it and let you collect some resources, which they also will drop if you just kill them.

If you were to go spelunking within the Dripstone Caves, you might also stumble across a new structure made of the new dripstone bricks! These dripstone dungeons are filled with some dripstone, pools of lava and a few chests and pots that might have some interesting loot, but watch out for the Dripstone Hobs and potential traps lurking within!

Deep down in the Deepslate layer of the underground, on your mining trip you may rarely stumble across an abandoned cabin! This small structure was inspired by the small cabins seen in the original Deep Dark reveal from Minecraft Live 2020 that were seemingly scrapped, so I decided to remix them a lil bit. They have loot barrels in them that contain mining supplies which can be handy!

As cool and large as the Deepslate block set is, it doesn’t hurt to make it larger, right? With this addon, you can now make mossy versions of Cobbled Deepslate and Deepslate Bricks! Make them by combining the non-mossy versions with either a vine or a moss block, and then you can craft or stonecut them into slabs, stairs and walls. Very cool!

Also, another little change about the underground is that Dungeons found under y level 0 will now be made of Cobbled Deepslate and Mossy versions instead of Cobblestone and it’s mossy variant. It’s a pretty small change, but just one that adds to the dark atmosphere down there a little bit!

What’s the opposite of the deepest caves? The highest cliffs, and there’s a dangerous new mob that lurks up there too! Blusters are living compounds of wind you can find blowing about high mountains at night, alongside other enemies. If you come close, they will attack you by conjuring a lightning bolt upon your sorry body! A ranged attack like an arrow should help you strike one down though! In addition, their windy forms are so powerful that any entities that come too close will be pulled into the air, including you! If killed, they may drop a new item called Wind Essence that we will discuss later on.

Well, an important use of the Wind Essence I probably should mention is that you now will need some of it in order to craft the powerful Mace, also an extra Breeze Rod is needed. Nothing else about the weapon has changed, but it is a bit more challenging to craft now so be wary of that.

Still focusing on the mountains, we turn our attention from chaotic evil to chaotic neutral: the Goats. Something that’s always bugged me about these cuties is that milking them with a bucket gives the same item as milking a cow, so I changed that by adding a new Goat Milk variant! It has the same effect of clearing status effects as a normal milk bucket, but an extra feature is that drinking it gives you a brief Jump Boost effect. This effect is better then one you can receive from potions, which does give this a useful reason for you to collect it! You can also still use this milk to make cakes just like normal milk. Goats will also drop their own meat and wool if you decide to kill them, for whatever reason. Monster...

A new type of ambient mushroom has been spotted growing across the overworld, named the Whitecap Mushroom! This fungi can be found growing on snowy mountain biomes like Groves and Snowy Slopes, but also within Dark Oak Forests. It emits a bit of light and sometimes particles, and is also directly edible but it’s not too nutritious and could have negative effects for your sight. For better eating purposes, you could just craft one into some Salad or Mushroom Stew!

Since we’re talking about new mushrooms, here’s another pretty notable new feature: the addition of Side Mushrooms! These are a new, decorative type of mushroom that come in red, brown and even whitecap variants, which can be placed only on the side of a block. If broken without Silk Touch they just drop a few mushrooms, but in a crafting table you could assemble those mushrooms back into the side ones so it’s not a big deal! Side Mushrooms can be found naturally growing in biomes like swamps, birch forests, taigas, mooshroom islands, roofed forests and cherry groves, so look in those areas for a nice new environmental detail! The whitecap ones emit particles and can be eaten, to, mixed results.

Bees produce honeycomb, but surely that’s something we all know, right? Well, with these honeycombs, you can slide them into a furnace and what comes out will be some pretty Crystalized Honey. This honey is very very tasty, so tasty in fact that eating some can help you regenerate your health a bit! Delicious. You can also use these two sticky materials to make a cool looking Wax Block! This block lights on fire very easily but won’t physically be destroyed by it, and also you move slower on it, so maybe you could do something cool with that.

Also, Honeycomb can be used to create a cool (and hard) new block named Hardened Honeycomb. There are actually two ways to create this block: You can either combine 2 Honeycomb and 2 Bricks together, or smelt a normal Honeycomb block in a furnace to make it!

On top of all that, Crystalized Honey can be brewed into Health Boost potions that give you a minor increase to health for some time!

Calcite is a nice looking block that was added in the Caves and Cliffs update, it is an abundant rock similar to Granite or Andesite, but for some reason you can’t use the stuff to make really anything. With this addon, that isn’t the case! You can make stairs, slabs and walls with this block, and it also has polished variants that can create more slabs and stairs and walls! Better get that stonecutter ready!

Within Dark Oak Forests, there’s a small new structure you might find known as the Boscage Hideout. Obviously being property of the Illagers, it has some vindicators inside guarding a few useful utility items, bookshelves and 2 chests with various items. This structure also houses a particular new mob that is a part of the Illager family…

…that new mob being none other then the Illusioner! This is another long unused mob from the Java edition that I decided to port to Bedrock for this addon, including behaviours that closely match the Java version! One Illusioner spawns within each Boscage Hideout alongside 2 Vindicators, all guarding the loot within. The Illusioner can attack by casting a spell that gives nearby players blindness and summoning some invincible copies of itself that will all fire arrows at the player alongside the real Illusioner (who turns invisible for the period the clones are active), which can make it a dangerous foe if you only have basic equipment. On death, they will usually just drop some emeralds and arrows.

But the Illusioner does also have a new, very rare drop, that being a special book called the Illusion Spell. If you were to cast it, you will conjure some glass illusions of yourself just like the Illusioner can! Even if they don’t look exactly the same as you, these clones will distract hostile mobs and as such you they will attack them instead of you, so they can serve as a distraction until they despawn! The spell has unlimited uses and can also be placed inside of Chiseled Bookshelves for storage, and it is a rare drop chance but if you don’t get it from the Illusioner you might find the book inside one of the structure’s chests instead.

One of Minecraft’s potentially most dull mechanics right now is the fishing system. It’s the same in every biome, same loot and everything, and has become pretty useless since the update which added fish mobs to the game… With this addon, fishing will hopefully become something worth more of your time! Now in this addon, every single biome in the Overworld has it’s own unique loot table for fishing, including cave biomes and the End as well. Fish, junk and treasure items that you can catch will vary across the biomes where you fish; For example in a Mangrove Swamp, you can only catch tropical fish as fish but maybe you can catch slimeballs and frog legs as junk or even a unique disc fragment. Items you can find range from logs, flowers and some animal drops to disc fragments, damaged tools and even pottery sherds too! In the End you cannot find any fish at all since obviously there are no fish in that dimension, but try fishing in as many biomes as possible to see what different items you can find!

Lurking within the deserted Badlands biomes at night, dangerous Stained Vessels will come out to hunt those that dare to cross these treacherous dunes. They behave very similar to Husks, but will inflict a weakness effect instead of hunger, lowering your attack damage! If killed, they drop the same items as Husks now do, but drop red sand instead of normal sand. In addition, Husks and Stained Vessels are both able to drop their own respective Pottery Sherds when killed. It's an extremely rare drop chance, but makes those certain sherds renewable which is cool!

Camels are cool mobs, and there’s some changes to them here too. Firstly, they can now naturally spawn in desert and badlands biomes! However, only uncommonly at day time and not in Bryce or Plateau Badlands, I guess they like to rest at night and in a flat place. Camels can also spawn with Villagers riding atop and have two new drops now, one of them being cookable and consumable Camel meat. Camel is eaten in some places around the world, it’s true! The other drop is Camel Pelt which can be used to make a useful some useful things. If you don’t want to kill the Camels though, instead you can find Camel Pelt and meat in chests within desert Villages!

Camel Pelt can also make a piece of leather similar to rabbit hide if combined together, or a Saddle if combined with leather, string and an iron ingot!

In Badlands biomes, you might stumble across a well, just like in usual deserts. Do these serve any extra purpose? Yes, actually! Like normal desert wells, you can find a few suspicious looking blocks of red sand within the water, which you can use your brush on to uncover some ancient items like pottery sherds!

Excitingly, about the disappointing structure mentioned above, but to make up for it the Badlands also has another structure known as the Outpost! These are small, abandoned houses that don’t generate too often, but are surprisingly cozy and might even have some items and blocks within that can help you. There are Chiseled Bookshelves present as well, maybe a cool Enchanted Book is hiding inside one of them? Just be wary of the Stained Vessels lurking inside, though. Like the well, there is also some suspicious looking red sand found within the structure that you can brush away for extra loot!

Another update to the Badlands biome is the introduction of a new rock named Strata! You can find some of this stuff generating higher up on the terracotta hills and mountains, which can even be made into slabs, stairs and walls. Might offer a nice bit of rocky texture for builds if you decide to collect some of the stuff!

Across the Desert and Badlands biomes of your world, a small new plant that you can find is the Barrel Cactus! This is just a baby version of the normal cactus, that you can actually grow into one by bonemealing it, or smelt into green dye.

One more thing for Deserts (and beaches too), you can find Palm Trees scattered across these lands! They’re just a nice decorative feature and occasional source of wood within the sandy barrens. This includes Palm Wood set that makes up logs, wood, leaves, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, a boat, leaves, trapdoor and doors! You can also use palm wood for all the usual recipes that you can make with other wood types, which is neat.

Keen on exploring the deserts and badlands of your world, maybe to find some of those new features? Weeeell, you might not be so pumped for travelling through the dunes at night, or else you’ll stumble upon a spooky new skeleton variant named the Fried. Appearing in both biomes under the shadow of night, this skeleton is similar to the Husk in nature and, as a result, will not burn in sunlight. That’s already pretty bad, but things get even worse when you find out that they can either spawn with a crossbow that shoots out weakening arrows or a stone axe and shield which they can use to disable yours! As much as they have many strengths over a normal skeleton, including increased health, these Fried do have a noticeably slower movement speed and smaller attack/follow range, so it isn’t as annoying to get away from them. On death, you might reap some pottery sherds, sand or lapis from their dusty remains, or you could shear them sometimes for some desert foliage!

Opposites attract is what they say? Well, the Desert does not attract with the cold Snow biomes, nor do Husks with Strays. Oh, by the way, Strays now have a custom bone drop on death, Chilled Bones! Chilled Bones can still be used to tame Wolves, but you can either put them in a furnace to defrost them into normal bones, put in a stonecutter for shards or use them to make Chilled Bone Meal. With this, you can make blue dye or even Chilled Bone Blocks. Ice cold!

The snowy areas of your world have seen their fair share of other updates as well; one of them is the addition of a block named Permafrost. This is a slippy type of ice that can either naturally generate as a part of the spikes in Ice Spikes biomes, or crafted with Ice Shavings, new items found in certain snowy chests or dropped from Strays! Permafrost can also drop some Ice Shavings if shattered with any type of pickaxe, which might prove useful on some cases.

Ice Shavings can also be used to chill the different types of bones, but also with a Mithril Ingot into the mix you can create a new weapon named the Icebolt Staff! This sceptre, on use, fires out an icebolt which will create a Frost Spike wherever it lands. The spike will linger for a few seconds, damaging and giving slowness to any mobs that touch it as well as distracting them which can be pretty useful if you know how to utilise it fully! Though it also has durability, you can repair it using more Ice Shavings or Mithril Ingots.

Your adventures through the frosty biomes might be a bit more dangerous though, lest you run into a deadly new enemy named the Frost Bite. This creature seems to be a relative of the spider, but is far more deadly than normal spiders as they are faster, have more health and deal more damage with a slowness effect on hit. On top of their ability to climb blocks like Spiders as well, they also have an alternate attack where they can fire out some of their own Frost Spikes which damage you - combine that with the chance of being ridden by a Stray and you have a truly terrifying foe! On death, they might drop Ice Shavings, Spider Eyes or Chilled Bone Shards. However, despite their enormous size and terrifying abilities, Frost Bites also share another aspect in common with the other Spiders: they are frightened of Armadillos and will run away from them, but since they reside in the snow biome it’s not likely that the two will ever meet.

Ravagers only spawn during raids, and they are a really tough mob to take down. Despite that though, they don’t have any special or unique drops apart from a saddle, so this addon changes that with a new drop named the Broken Tusk! Sometimes dropped by a Ravager on death, you can combine one with some emeralds to create a new tool called the Olivager. When blown, it will temporarily give nearby players the Hero of the Village effect which lowers villager trade prices for a bit! However, you can only use it so many times before it breaks and you’ll need to make a new one, and there is also a long cooldown between each use.

Anyway, we return back to the caves for a last few overworld additions. Cave Spiders are usually a mineshaft exclusive mob, a smaller spider that has a poisonous bite, though with this addon, you can find them across caves below y16! They still behave the same but have a new drop on death, yielding Caustic Eyes instead of normal Spider Eyes. You can eat these toxic eyes, but you really, really shouldn’t... Armadillos don’t have an issue eating them, though…

Also, Caustic Eyes are now a necessary component for crafting Suspicious Stew, with all flower types included (you can use them to make Fermented Spider Eyes, but using normal spider eyes is still an option):

One more thing with them, you can brew Fatal Poison potions! Fatal Poison, if you don’t know, is a Bedrock exclusive effect that is very similar to poison, but can kill you! Perfect for trolling friends? You could try to convince them it’s like, a jump boost potion or something...

The terrifying Deep Dark is already a perilous biome, with the juggernaut Warden arising if you can’t be quite enough, but the dangers don’t get any better with this addon. The Sculk Jaw is a new trap block that hides among the sculk floors and can cause you some problems if you step upon it! Any player or mob not native to the Deep Dark that walks on this block will literally be eaten, and start taking damage as well as being inflicted with darkness. There’s also another new block in the Deep Dark called Fossilised Sculk, it drops some pretty gloomy bone shards if you break it!

Along with those 2 spooky new blocks, the Deep Dark also has a new creature that now wanders it’s barren tunnels - the Ghoul! These undead creatures are frequently found in the actual Deep Dark biome but don’t spawn as often around Ancient Cities, usually wandering together in groups. For as long as you don’t attack them, they have a very small detection and follow radius so they aren’t too hazardous, but if you attack one it will chase after you very quickly and for large distances! Ghouls do have a weakness though, that being the Echo Horn - the sound made if you blow one is so intense upon the Ghouls that it will kill any nearby ones instantly. If you kill a Ghoul it will just drop some special gloomy bones and sculk, so doing such does not possess much value as you can find those new bones in Ancient City chests anyway.

Whilst looting Ancient City chests, you may rarely discover a brand new item called the Shattered Mirror. This doesn’t do anything on it’s own, but if you were to combine it with some Quartz and Echo Shards you could fix the mirror back to good condition! If you use this repaired Echo Mirror, it will essentially teleport you back to world spawn high in the sky, but you’ll get Slow Falling so you won’t die from a long fall or anything! This can be super helpful for returning back home if your base is there or you just need to quickly get there in a matter of seconds from thousands of blocks away! This item does work in the Nether and End as well, but uh don’t use it in the Nether or it won’t end well for you.

When spelunking in the Deep Dark, you might stumble upon a curious site, a sort of abandoned excavation area. Covered in cobwebs and sculk jaws and surrounded by Ghouls, there are some pretty notable hazards present within this small structure, not even mentioning the sculk sensors and shriekers which could easily call for a Warden should you make too much noise. But there are some pretty good rewards you can find here too, whether that be from loot barrels or the many ores embedded within the tunnelled piles of sculk!

Since we’re still on the topic of Deep Dark updates, you can also now use Echo Shards to create a new block called the Whispering Crystal, if combined with some Amethyst. This block is mostly just for decoration, but it has been said that it actually does have a tendency to whisper to those who are near…

When Axolotls were first revealed at Minecon Live 2020 in all their cuteness, there was an extra colour seen, a green variant. While this type of Axolotl has never made it into the base game, and even devs like LadyAgnes have refused to elaborate on why it wasn’t added, anything’s possible with this addon! Green axolotls can be found swimming around Lush Cave pools alongside the other colours, and they do behave the same way. Picking a green axolotl up in a bucket will also remember the green colour next time you place it! Even if it does say a different name, don’t worry it will be green when placed.

Just another final mob that inhabits the lushest caves, Roxens are fast. They’re ravenous. They’re DANGEROUS. And I... Guess they like flesh and berries for breakfast? These creatures seem to be related to some sort of cyclops, with their one glowing eye in the dark, and can be found in groups across the caverns. Though their kin are harmless and aren’t really hunters, the adults will chase after you at pretty terrifying speeds looking for a snack, and can swim in water after you very fast! Despite having a preference for flesh, whether it be rotten, sunken or smouldering, you can also feed and breed them with Glow Berries or any type of Rotten Flesh Block to produce a child. On death, Roxens will drop their own type of meat, as well as a new Rusted Horn!

Rusted Horns can be used to craft an Amethyst Shatterer as previously mentioned, and also Goat Horns when combined with a certain respective material for each type of Goat Horn. Perhaps the Roxen may also share some relations to the beautiful Goats of the mountains? Check it out in game to find out how to craft them all!

Whilst digging within the deep depths of the Overworld, there’s a new ore for you to find - Mithril! Mithril begins generating around y level 25 but becomes more common closer to the bottom of the world, and can be mined with an Iron Pickaxe or better to get a smeltable Raw Mithril. The Raw Pearl and Ingots can both be turned into nice green blocks as well! Mithril Ore also spawns more frequently underground in snow biomes, and has it’s own rare, associated Orx variant that will produce Raw Mithril on occasion and drop it on death.

Mithril Ingots don’t have a full toolset that can be made, but you can use them to craft some Mithril Armor! In addition to looking awesome, this armor has much higher durability then Diamond Armor meaning you don’t have to repair it very often, so you might prefer this set. There is an associated weapon you can make called the Mithril Reaper if combined with a diamond, it deals 7 damage and can mine some blocks very fast like a hoe, making it a multiple use item! In the Trial Chambers, you might spot mobs wearing Mithril Armor and holding Mithril Reapers during Ominous Trials that have scary enchantments like thorns and fire aspect. Yikes…

Mithril Ingots also have a few more crafting recipes if combined with Wind Essence, a new item that is dropped from Blusters on death. One of them is the Tempest Lamp, an expensive yet nice looking light source:

The other is a new item called the Tome of Gales! This is a powerful book that can channel wind energy whenever it is opened, sending nearby enemies high into the air and dealing a lot of fall damage to them when they land! Though, the Tome’s effects do not work on passive mobs, and there is a cooldown between each use. You can also put the Tome of Gales in a Chiseled Bookshelf for storage, and it will remember that you put it in! To make it, you would need a book and some Mithril Ingots and Wind Essence, alongside Echo Shards from Ancient Cities and Breeze Rods from the Trial Chambers, so you gotta go all over the place in order to make it.

Furthermore, using Mithril Ingots and Amethyst Shards you are able to create a fun new tool named the Mithril Magnet. This item is pretty cool actually as on use, it will pull nearby items that are dropped on the floor towards you to be picked up; it works through walls as well! Though it has durability and needs to be repaired every so often, there’s definitely some neat things you could pull off with one of these!

You can also combine Mithril Ingots with some Wind Essence and a Wind Charge to create a special wand, which you can use to fire out your own Wind Charges. Unlike Wind Charges which you have to throw, this wand is able to fire out a lot before breaking and also shoots them out at a higher velocity, so it is kinda like a reusable charge which might be nice!

Though the mining process of obtaining some ores was made more interesting with the Cave update, I still think there could be some tweaks to make it more exciting to explore the world to collect ores. So with this addon, ore distribution has been updated to make certain ores more common in certain biomes! Here’s a list of such:
*More coal ore is found in Swamps and Mangrove Swamps
*More lapis lazuli ore is found in Deserts
*More iron ore is found in Lush Caves
*More diamond ore is found in the Deep Dark
*More mithril ore is found in Snow Biomes

The Sniffer was a pretty cool new addition for the Trails and Tales update, being able to sniff up two different ancient plants that make for cool decorations. This addon introduces a third plant that can be dug up by the Sniffer, named the Trapper Plant! Trapper Germs can also be used to breed pigs and wallowers, and with the actual plant you can create lime dye! You can use them to tempt and feed Sniffers, which you can also do with Pitcher Pods now as well.

Within the beautiful cherry grove biomes, you might discover a nice little Blossom Sanctum! This cozy little home is made up entirely of pink wood and glass to fit in with the scenery, and has a chest with some basic loot within. There’s a few decorations you might consider taking for yourself too, like lanterns and (un)decorated pots.

Vexes are one of Minecraft’s most despised mobs, due to being very small and hard-hitting. This addon doesn’t make them any bigger or weaker, but it does give them a unique drop called Ghostly Remains! These seem to be a corrupted version of the magical Spectral Orbs produced by Allays, and as such, if you gather some Ghostly Remains with a piece of Lapis Lazuli you can turn them into a Spectral Orb! Cleric villagers might also be interested in Ghostly Remains for trading, if you happen to have a lot of them.

This addon also ports the features from my other main addon, Disc Fragments and New Goat Horns. This includes the return of the removed Copper Horn from update 1.19, plus some new useful variants of the Goat Horn, an item produced by Allays and a new, more interesting way of collecting Music Discs similar to Disc 5! All the info about this mod can be seen at it’s respective mod page (though ignore the additional changes at the bottom):

Added to the Soul Sand Valley biome is two new blocks: Soul Sandstone and Soul Iron Ore! Soul Iron Ore will drop some iron nuggets for you, but only if broken with any type of shovel, so it can be a handy way to get some iron in the Nether if you need any! Another feature added to the Soul Sand Valley is that Wither Roses can naturally be found there, making it a bit more risky. Watch out!

You can now use Wither Roses to brew Potions of Decay, which have a withering effect. Since it is a built in vanilla potion already that just isn’t obtainable in survival, it even has lingering and arrow variants!

Soul Sand can also be smelted down into it’s own unique type of glass, Soul Glass! It is pretty similar to normal glass, but also has the mysterious benefit of emitting a small amount of light to it’s nearby surroundings. You can use Soul Glass to craft the same items as normal Glass, such as bottles, beacons, end crystals, ect.

Soul Sandstone comes in a bunch of different variants made in the same ways as normal/red sandstone, includes slabs, walls and stairs too! Soul Sandstone can also be created with 4 soul sand, just in case.

In the Soul Sand Valley, you can rarely find a new structure too, the Soul Towers! It’s relatively rare, but might have a chest inside. However, there are some deadly enemies guarding the towers, and opening the chest within might not be as safe as it seems either...

If you’re not a fan of tall, skeletal mobs with quite a lot of health and the ability to summon other skeletal mobs, then the Soul Towers is not a recommended place for you to visit. Meet the Necromancer, a new undead mob that resides in this structure alongside some other undeads. On top of being able to summon Skeletons and Wither Skeletons, they can cast their own fireballs at you as a secondary attack so watch out for that! When killed they drop a lot of Wither Bones, but they also have a chance to drop an item named the Soul Stealer which you can use every so often to drain the soul energy from nearby enemies and weaken them!

Soul Shrines are another new, smaller structure you can sometimes find spawning within Soul Sand Valleys. These are made of various types of Soul Sandstone you can take for building if you want, but more importantly, each one contains a full iron block at the center which can be very handy!

Another cool soul thing is that you can now make a Soul Jack o'Lantern using a Pumpkin and a Soul Torch, which looks really sweet if you’re into soul decorations! Like other soul blocks, it doesn’t emit as much light as the normal counterpart and also does scare Piglins away, which you could use if you want.

The Soul Sand Valley also features another new mob, which is a rabid and undead beast known as the Soul Scuttle. These are pretty fast and dangerous and will attack you as well as Piglins without hesitation, who will also try to avoid them. Their bites inflict the wither effect and they are also able to climb up blocks very quickly whilst chasing you, so this can also be a pretty deadly foe especially when sometimes being ridden by a Wither Skeleton! When killed, you might be able to salvage some Wither Bone Shards or Soul Sand/Soil from their remains.

The Basalt Deltas biome has some new content too! First of all, you can find Gilded Blackstone generating here now, making a new way to obtain it or some extra gold if you needed any.

Ruby Ore has also been added! It generates among the many columns of Basalt, and mining it with any pickaxe will yield you a Ruby, which has a couple different recipes.

Rubies actually contain deposits of redstone sealed within them, as a result you can turn a ruby into 2 pieces of redstone dust. If you are doing a nether only challenge, now you have a way to get redstone! You can also create a block with 9 rubies, which can later turn into stairs or slabs.

With rubies, you can create two unique tools: the Ruby Bracelets and Ruby Cutlass. While wearing the Ruby Bracelets, you will get some minor resistance and strength effects plus some knockback resistance. Also, Piglins will not attack you! Meanwhile, the Ruby Cutlass is more expensive and not too damaging, but hitting mobs with it slows them down and gives you a short speed effect, plus has some over time extra damage! Watch out though, both these tools don’t have too high durability.

The Rubies can turn a golden carrot into a Ruby Carrot! This food item has the best nutrition and saturation benefit of any food item in the game, and eating it gives you some brief fire resistance and night vision effects, making it handy in a pinch!

You can also use Rubies to create a nice little new decoration block named the Soul Lamp, if combined with some gold, nether quartz and a piece of soul sand or soil. The lamp emits a little bit of light and also scares away Piglins, but it mainly just looks cool!

The poor Wandering Trader might be one of Minecraft’s most hated mobs, infamous for his pretty poor trades. With this addon, his trades receive an upgrade! In exchange for rubies, you can trade some more powerful items such as powder snow, diamonds, sculk sensors, froglights and various other things! However, the trades are in pretty low stock; you can only trade a couple times before they run out so spend wisely.

Caution should be taken when traversing these scorching lands, or you might just wander into something you wish you hadn’t. The Basalt Giant is a huge, terrifying new enemy that spawns in the Basalt Deltas biome, both on the land and it’s many lava seas. Packing a large health pool, high melee damage that disables shields and 2 different fireball attacks, they are likely the most dangerous foe you will encounter on your Nether adventures so be wary! Killing them can be tough yet rewarding, on death they always drop some Basalt and Gold Ingots or blocks, but rarely they might drop a Netherite Scrap! Curiously, Basalt Giants will attack both Wither Skeletons and Piglins on sight; why this is the case is not known, but maybe it is a hint into their history. Another thing about Basalt Giants is that, on death, they will do something absolutely horrible that can be very harmful to you so please be cautious of that as well.

On top of all the gold and basalt, those giants also have a new item that they will often drop on death, and that is a Basalt Core. Should you combine one of these with some Blaze Rods and a Ruby, you can create a new ranged weapon named the Blaze Buster! This will rapid fire a stream of fireballs which aren’t too strong individually, but as there isn’t a cooldown between shots or anything like that you can go SUPER ballistic! When it inevitably gets low on durability you’ll need another Basalt Core in order to repair the blaster, so it shall be back to the Basalt Deltas for you.

Were you to combine 9 Magma Cream together, you could make a new decorative block out of it! Besides occasionally bubbling lava, this block doesn’t really do anything special but you can turn it back into the 9 Magma Cream if you desire.

The Basalt Deltas also can infrequently spawn a new structure called the Delta Dungeon! This consists of a pretty small tower made of blackstone, basalt and rubies, but a basement contains a loot chest with some stuff. Beware of Magma Cubes down below!

Also, if you are having issues finding a basalt delta biome for rubies or just cannot find any ore, Rubies can also be found in Nether Fortress and Bastion Remnant chests as an alternate way to collect some! In Bastion Remnant treasure chests, you can even find a pair of Ruby Bracelets as some good loot!
The Nether Fortresses were Minecraft’s original Nether structure before the mighty Bastion Remnants were added, but for some reason they weren’t updated at all with the literal Nether Update. Though it’s kinda limited what you can change about vanilla structures with Bedrock addons, I tried to make some changes anyway! The fortresses are now also built of Cracked Nether Bricks, alongside regular ones, just to spice them up a little. Also, there’s been a pretty notable update to Wither Skeletons: they now have a chance to spawn with a bow! If they do, they can shoot and drop decay arrows that inflict the Wither effect on hit, so be careful! Speaking of Wither Skeletons, just like Strays they have their own bone they drop on death now, which can make blocks, shards, bone meal and black dye even.

Volatile Shrooms are another new plant that can be found growing across the Nether, within Nether Wastes biomes as well as the two forests. These may just look like normal orange mushrooms, but they’re actually quite a bit different - mainly the fact that if anything steps on one, the shroom explodes! This explosion creates a little bit of fire and can be quite damaging but won’t actually destroy any terrain, so there is quite a bit of potential for it for traps or farms!

When a Piglin Brute enters the Overworld for whatever reason, it still turns into a zombie, but for some reason they lose their cool brute clothes. Not anymore though! If a Piglin Brute reaches the Overworld, it turns into a Zombified Piglin Brute, which is basically just like a normal Zombified Piglin but has stronger health and damage. They can still anger nearby ones when aggravated though! Since a Piglin Brute being sent to the Overworld probably happens extremely rarely, these Zombified Piglin Brutes can also naturally spawn uncommonly in place of a normal Zombie Piglin.

Anyway, another Nether biome we take a look into is the lovely and lush Crimson Forest! The floors of these forests are now coated with Sanguine Sprouts, which are just a crimson equivalent to the Warped Forest’s nether sprouts, and there also is more gold ore that you can find in these forests as well. In addition to those, you can find bushes of Dragon Cherries uncommonly! These bushes will grow some Dragon Cherries every now and again, which aren’t the best source of saturation or hunger but give a brief Fire Resistance effect when eaten. You can also bonemeal the bushes using Wither Bone Meal if they are growing too slow, so you can get more cherries to eat!

In the Crimson Forests, you might also find piles of Rotten Flesh Blocks just lying around every so often. Really they don’t serve any real purpose other than ecoraton, but uh if you’re really into rotten flesh then this will be great for you!

Just like the Side Mushrooms of the Overworld, there are now Warped and Crimson Side Fungi you can respectively find generating on the trees of Warped and Crimson Forests! Similar to those they can be crafted using 3 of the respective fungi, and will break into those fungi if broken without Silk Touch. Nothing special out of these other then a sweet decoration!

A new creature buzzing around both the Warped and Crimson Forests, the Shroomlight Bug is pretty big and pretty loud if you come too close. Unlike most Nether creatures they’re not initially angry at you, but can call for nearby bugs to attack if you hit first! They can also be bred with Nether Wart, Dragon Cherries or Shroomlight, and will drop Glowstone Dust on death. Though killing them probably isn’t the best use for you: if you interact with a bug with a glass bottle, you will receive a bottle of Melted Shroomlight!

If consumed, a bottle of Melted Shroomlight will give a brief blindness effect, but also remove the Wither effect if you happen to have it, so these could be useful in Nether Fortresses! You can also use them to craft extra Shroomlight blocks or brew Potions of Blindness... cool…

A small extra feature for these forests, Hoglins will drop their own meat now! Usually they just drop porkchops, but have a unique Hoglin meat now instead. Piglins will eat this meat and you can find it in some bastion chests instead of porkchops!

Going to the other forest now, Warped Forests have received their own mob too, named the Pest. This creature is not called that for nothing’s sake: they are pretty fast, can teleport and will hurt you pretty bad if you fight one unarmored! Though they have a weakness: almost in parallel of Hoglins, they don’t like the stench of Crimson Fungus, and will flee if some is nearby. On death, Pests drop a new item known as Pulsating Glands, which you can use to make some edible Pulse Sludge!

Another feature for the Warped Forest, a new ore type know as Uranium has been added here! You can find this ore generating infrequently below y level 70, and mining it with an Iron Pickaxe or better yields a piece of Uranium Powder. With this powder, you can do a few things: the first of which is make a fancy Uranium block. Combine some with Pulsating Glands and Pulse Sludge to also make a decorative Pulstone block!

Uranium Powder can also be used to create a very destructive new tool when combined with 4 Iron Ingots and 2 Diamonds, this recipe creates 4 Tunnelers. It’s a freakin’ throwable explosive that has an enormous blast radius! This may prove very useful for mining, but keep your distance, as even the strongest protection armor might not save you if you come too close...

One more use for this powder, it can create a new weapon-like item known as the Nuclear Fury, when combined with a Netherite Ingot. This staff will inflict a devastating poison effect upon any nearby mobs when used, though the toxic radiation flowing through the air also cripples your movement speed, so be careful against fast mobs!

The Warped and Crimson Forests are filled with tons of Nether Wart blocks, aren’t they? Unfortunately for any trespassing players who do not tread carefully, they may find themselves attacked by a living mass of warped or crimson wart! The Wart Crushers are new, hostile creatures that come in two different variants; one found in each type of forest. On sight, they will relentlessly chase down any intruding humans and try to kill them, being able to climb blocks and swim through lava - each variant of Wart Crusher inflicts a different effect on hit which can be deadly. If killed, they will drop their respective type of stem, wart block and fungi, which maybe you’ll like for farming resources! You can also shear them to collect some extra fungus, I’m not too sure why you would do that but you can if you want.

Another feature that spans across both the Warped and Crimson Forests comes in the form of a new structure, which are these large campsites! Having seemingly been built by the Piglins, you can find these very rarely in these forest biomes and they consist of a few buildings which might have some treasures within. There are two different variants of the camp that you can find: the normal variant is found in Crimson Forests and is inhabited by Piglins and Piglin Brutes which can make it challenging to collect the loot, whereas an abandoned variant spawns inside of Warped Forests that doesn’t have any creatures but has less loot and is overrun with Volatile Shrooms. Both have their own threats and loots to be found there, so take caution!

Also, you can now craft boats of both Warped and Crimson wood! You can craft them just how you would any other boat, but with the respective nether wood instead. These boats are a little buggy compared to the vanilla ones right now, but they work for traversing water and holding 2 entities like normal boats can. They are also fire resistant but cannot float on lava well, you still would want to use a Strider to get across larger lava pits!

Though not necessarily a Nether exclusive feature, one of the most frustrating things in all of Minecraft is having your rare items and drops be burnt by lava or fire, right? I mean, why do items like Wither Skulls and Blaze Rods burn if their respective mobs don’t? So this addon changes that! Many vanilla items and some from this mod will not be able to be destroyed by fire or lava anymore, mostly consisting of rare treasures and nether-related items. Should help things be more fair if you die in lava with a load of valuables!

The End is now blanketed in occasional patches of two new blocks known as Chorus Sod and Chorus Morass. Growing on top of these patches are Chorus Shoots, Chorus Weeds, Chorus Morass Carpets and Waft Fruit. If you don’t find much foliage, you can make some more by bonemealing the Sod or Morass! Waft Fruit is a better food source then Chorus Fruit but will levitate you up a bit when eaten, be sure to eat it in an enclosed area!

Chorus Sod can be created with a piece of End Stone and Chorus Fruit, you can also use 4 Chorus Weeds to make Chorus Morass, and 2 of those to make 3 carpets. A piece of Chorus Fruit, Chorus Weeds and a bowl will make End Goop Stew, a new consumable that has good hunger but a stronger teleportation effect then the normal Chorus Fruit!

These patches of chorus foliage lead us to the End’s first new mob: the Chorus Snail! This friendly end creature will only be able to spawn on Chorus Sod and Chorus Morass blocks, you can tempt and breed them with any chorus related items, including those added by this addon. You can ride them, and control where they are going with a Chorus Fruit on a Stick, no saddle needed! Though do not expect to get very far...

Chorus Snails will actively seek out, break and devour any Chorus Plants or Waft Fruits nearby, and using a bowl on an adult one will produce some End Goop Stew! They also like eating Endermites that come nearby, so they can help defend you from any you might stumble across.

Chorus Snails drop Popped Chorus Fruit and they have their nice big shells as items, but you can’t get those by killing them. Rather, you should use a Brush on one to collect some pieces, which will damage the durability quite a bit due to how hard you’re brushing the snail but if you get 6 pieces you can assemble them into a full shell. With the complete shells, you can brew Potions of Resistance that can help you withstand damage in combat!

Speaking of Endermites, remember them? They are a mob that usually can rarely spawn when an Ender Pearl is thrown. With this addon, that no longer happens, and they have infested the End and created their own nests! These nests will occasionally lay out Endermites which will attack players. Endermites have also been buffed slightly, they inflict weakness on hit and have a teleportation ability, albeit one much weaker then that of an Enderman. Those two mobs have also learnt to get along and will not attack eachother anymore!

Endermites can drop Endermite Scabs and Fractured Pearls on death. Endermite Scabs can be eaten, though it may not be recommended, but preferably you can brew Potions of Rage with them. This potion gives Blindness but also a strong Strength and Speed effect if you drink it!

About the Fractured Pearls though, this is a new item that slightly reworks the progression of Minecraft. All former sources of Ender Pearls, such as trading, bartering and killing Endermen, will drop Fractured Pearls instead, which are used to craft normal Ender Pearls using some items from the End. Though you can still use them to craft Eyes of Ender!

An item needed to create Ender Pearls now stems from a new ore known as Pearl! This ore generates pretty commonly across the End and will drop Raw Pearl if mined with an Iron Pickaxe or better. Some alternative ways of obtaining Pearl include mining clusters of it found rarely across the End or slaying Pearl Golems, tough new enemies that spawn across this dimension. They have pretty high health and damage as well as a ranged shard attack, so exercise caution if you wish to challenge them!

Raw Pearl can then be smelted into Pearl Ingots, used for a few new things! They can be used to craft nice and shiny new Pearl blocks as well as Pearl Nuggets, which can be crafted back into full ingots. Pearl Nuggets can also be found in End City chests alongside Fractured Pearls, just another way to get some Pearl!

The End won’t be quite as devoid of any life in this addon, thanks to the fact that you can now find small pools of water across the barren landscapes. Surrounded by Chorus Morass and covered in decorative Pondchorus, you could use these small ponds for fishing to obtain some End loot if you want!

Chorungus is another new type of plant that grows across the End, both on Chorus ground and just on End Stone. There are tall Chorungus stems that naturally spawn across the End islands, but you can also grow a tall one by bonemealing Chorungus! Like the mushrooms from the other dimensions, they too come in a side variant which is nice.

Another small new feature added is Cracked End Stone Bricks, just a decoration block you can make by smelting End Stone Bricks in a furnace. Also, to make End Stone Bricks now you have to smelt normal End Stone into little bricks, and use those to make the blocks. There’s also Chiseled End Stone Bricks that you can make with 2 End Stone Brick slabs, they have seemingly a Shulker on them...

There also are small Ruined End Gateways that generate uncommonly, these do not have any real use and are just a cosmetic landscape feature.

If you like purpur blocks as well, then good news for you! Introduced are two new types of purpur that you can craft: Smooth Purpur (which also has slabs) and Chiseled Purpur. You can craft these blocks using regular purpur blocks and purpur pillars or find them within some of the End’s structures, and they might make fun additions for some end or shulker themed builds!

Back to more notable features, Lepidolite is a new type of rock found pretty commonly a little deeper down in the End! This stone is only mineable with a Stone Pickaxe or above. You can make stairs and slabs, or a nice shiny Polished variant for a cool new decoration blocks! Lepidolite also has it’s own variant of Pearl Ore that spawns if Pearl Ore tries to generate where Lepidolite is, it basically behaves the same but takes a little bit longer to mine.

You can also use Lepidolite to craft some stone-related items, like tools, furnaces and brewing stands, pretty useful if you need them during your adventures in the End!

An overhaul to End generation has also been introduced, making it much more exciting! Featuring large tunnels that sometimes extend down into small caves across the barren lands, overhangs covering areas underneath and just generally more extreme stuff to be found, it will hopefully make your adventures here more interesting!

The Endermites have also called underground tunnels in the End home, making Burrows out of them! Hidden not too far below the End’s surface, these are filled with Endermite Nests, creating a possibility of you being easily swarmed. Deposits of Pearl in here might prove of use, though!

When lower down in the End you’ve already got some pretty decent reason to watch your step, lest you fall into the void, but if you weren’t worried about that enough then the fragile Crumblestone might invoke some more fear into you. Generating lower down in the isles or craftable with a mix of normal End Stone and Marble, this block will begin to crumble apart if you step on or interact with it before it breaks, leaving nothing behind! Not only can this be dangerous if it spawns right above the void but it can also be pretty cool for creating platforms that fall behind those who step on them, or used for farming if you put some damaging blocks underneath!

Another new feature added to the End is the Topaz Geode, a new feature that sometimes generates deeper down in the End, you will often see them sticking out near the bottom of the islands. They are surrounded by coatings of Carnelian and Marble, with the Topaz blocks and Burgeons inside! The Burgeons will be able to grow Topaz crystals on them if there is a space above, and the fully grown ones will drop Topaz Slivers when harvested! With the Topaz Slivers, you can combine them with Pearl Ingots to create a Topaz Lamp, a nice looking new light source! Crafting 2 of them together with some End Brick items will create Topaz Bricks, another decorative block that can be smelted to crack it or create some stairs and slabs!

When Topaz Burgeons are ready to bud, they usually will just sprout up a small topaz crystal that can grow up. But every so often, a small little Topaz Critter may pop out instead! These creatures are completely harmless and won’t try to harm you in any way, matter of fact they are frightened of you due to your massive size in comparison and so will try to run away from you… using the limited space there is inside one of the geodes. If you were kill one of them, you’ll be left with some Topaz Slivers and Marble and Carnelian from the geode as well.

You might find this nice little structure whilst exploring the End, a small little alter made of out Topaz. There’s a safe chest on the centre of the alter with some pretty valuable loot within, so do not hesitate to take a look! Or don’t, it’s fine…

Near the bottom of the End islands, you might find a unique type of Fossil! These are made of Bone Blocks as well as Chilled Bone Blocks, and will also have some Pearl Ore blocks you can extract if you so desire.

Perhaps one of the biggest features in this addon is another new ore added to the End, known as Bismuth! This very powerful ore generates near the bottom of the End islands in small veins, making it rather risky to collect some. Bismuth Ore cannot be destroyed by explosions or fire/lava, and only drops items if mined with a Diamond Pickaxe or better. Bismuth Ore will drop 1-2 Bismuth Chips when mined, these are important for upgrading your Netherite gear and making some of the more powerful items added by this addon. If you are struggling to find Bismuth Ore, chips can also be found rarely in chests of some structures!

Combining 5 Bismuth Chips with various other minerals collected across your adventure (Ruby, Amethyst Shard, Pearl Ingot and Diamond) will create a Bismuth Shard! Combining this with any Netherite equipment piece in a new block will make a Bismuth equipment piece, note that this will not preserve data like trims, names or enchantments.

The Bismuth Bench is a new block that is essentially an upgraded version of the crafting table, that can be crafted with a Bismuth Shard, some obsidian or crying obsidian, a shulker shell and an eye of ender. The Bismuth Bench is needed to be able to make most items that are made of Bismuth Shards but can also make anything you can craft with a normal crafting table, so you can replace your boring wooden crafting tables with these cooler end-themed ones! Just like upgrading Diamond equipment into Netherite, you’ll need to use a unique template at the Bismuth Bench alongside your shard and desired item to upgrade. You can find this template within chests of End Cities and Deep End Chambers, and also like the other smithing templates you can copy one with some diamonds and a block of Lepidolite!

Bismuth equipment is much more powerful than Netherite variants: each tool deals 2 extra damage and mines blocks much faster, also each armor piece gives 25% knockback resistance, so wearing a full set gives you 100% knockback resistance. All Bismuth equipment as well as items made with Bismuth Shards cannot be destroyed by fire or lava like Netherite, as well as having high enchant value at an enchanting table! Bismuth Armor is also trimmable using any material and smithing template, so you can customise it in an almost endless amount of ways while still remaining sturdy!

Across the End islands, you may find patches of a mysterious new block, which has been nicknamed Twisting Nebula. It is very mysterious, as it will steal parts of your soul and harm you if you step on it, but most creatures native to the End seem to be able to walk on it without side effects. It also emits a brief amount of light but doesn’t drop anything if broken and Spiralling Matter grows atop some. Some compounds of Twisting Nebula may form together to create a dangerous new creature...

...a new creature called the Noxious Immolator! This is a pretty substantially sized beast that spawns within a few of the End’s new structures, one of them being some twisted purpur ruins. It’s not just impressive in size, but also very dangerous in strength, probably being one of the most dangerous non-boss mobs you can encounter! Though slow, their attacks do very high damage and will poison you for a long period of time. Blocking with a shield won’t prove the best help, as their attack also disables shields for a bit. Additionally, they can teleport, reflect projectiles and seem to emit fumes throughout the air that are dangerous towards you, but will empower other nearby End monsters with the strength effect! If all that wasn't bad enough, these creatures also have another attack where they will release giant bubbles every so often that burst into poison and deal significant damage and knockback. Should you manage to take down one of these creatures, you’ll be rewarded with a good amount of experience, but also sometimes a few new items called Everlasting Offcuts.

Another new mob for the End is the Blastling! Inspired by the same mob from Minecraft Dungeons, it is one of my favourite mobs from that game, so I tried to port it into this addon. It will attack you by rapidly shooting dangerous fireballs at you which deal damage and set you on fire, be careful of them! Blastlings do not spawn randomly around the End, however they can be found within some of the new structures. Blastlings drop Fractured Pearls and sometimes a Blastling Pearl on death which can be used for crafting some items and also thrown like a normal pearl. They also have a pretty rare chance of dropping their arm on death, which you can use to shoot out some fireballs just like them!

Higher up in the skies of the End, there are now floating islands to be found! There are 3 different variants of island that can generate: One that is just made of End Stone, another covered in chorus foliage and one more that has a patch of Twisting Nebula and some tall Chorungus on it. These islands can spawn Endermen and Chorus Snails on them. Bismuth Ore is also rather common on the very high islands, giving you an alternative way to find it! But tread carefully so high up, as a new threat roams the higher skies here...

...Introducing another new mob, the Glider! This is a pesky and dangerous flying mob that only spawns in the End on higher y levels, specifically above y level 144. It is rather fast and hard to hit down even with a projectile, and will attack by shooting balls of acid that will leave short-lived lingering acid, basically like a weaker version of the Ender Dragon’s attack. They also have a large detection radius and will attack you from very far away, but they also do not have the best aim... Still, be careful higher up on the islands and try not to get thrown off! As they fly quickly it can be difficult for you trap their drops, but on death they might drop an item named the Wyvern Heart which you can either eat or use to brew levitation potions!

Up in the skies of the End, End Laboratories uncommonly can be found hovering over the void, amongst the various other isles. A loot chest and some pretty rare blocks found within can serve handy for you, but try not to get sniped off by Blastlings, Shulkers or Gliders!

Said to be build by the old sculpturers of the End, Old Towers are rarely found on the surface of this dimension. This tower is not too big but contains a few handy features within, even some potions and an enchanting table! There’s a loot chest at the top, but it is guarded by Blastlings and Shulkers so tread carefully.

Chorus Gardens are a bit more common then the Old End Towers but still pretty rare, within here you can find Chorus Flowers and weeds growing, this place has also been infested by many Endermites who have made their nesting within as well as some Shulkers. Maybe there is something valuable hidden underneath the garden?

Similar to the Dungeons of the regular Overworld are Deep End Chambers, found stuffed underground in the End. 2 valuable chests inside are protected by an Endermite and Blastling spawner, making this pretty dangerous if you don’t come stacked with decent equipment.

An absolutely enormous structure, the Corrupted Workshop is a very rare building that houses a lot of Twisting Nebula and Crumblestone, making it hazardous to just walk on the floor of the building. That’s not even mentioning the Shulkers, Blastlings and Noxious Immolator that guard the place, making it probably the End’s most deadly structure so it is advised you approach this place with great care. But if you’re able to survive, you will find some of the End’s best loot as well in the hidden barrels around!

Finally, let’s talk about some of the most powerful items of this addon. Serving as a powerful upgrade of the Ender Pearl is the Infinipearl! This uses 2 Ender Pearls, 2 Blastling Pearls, 4 Pearl Ingots and a Bismuth Shard in it’s recipe, it serves as an ender pearl with unlimited uses! The velocity and power are also greater then a normal pearl, meaning it travels faster and further. This should help you get around easier, but it will still hurt you while teleporting so be careful!

The Pearl Shard Shooter is a ranged weapon you can make with a Bismuth Shard and 6 Pearl Ingots. Using this will shoot out a pearl shard with a 5 second cooldown, it is similar to the shards shot by Pearl Golems, and each shard deals 10 damage. Watch out for the durability though, you can repair it with extra Pearl Ingots or Bismuth Shards!

An especially powerful tool is known as the Forbidden Amulet. This strong item can be crafted using 6 Topaz Slivers, 2 Bismuth Shards and an Eye of Ender. Using this item will instantly clear any negative effects you may have and instead apply some negative effects to any nearby hostile mobs, it also gives you a variety of useful buffs for 10 seconds! But it also has durability that goes down with each use, so be careful of that.

Another powerful item added is the Vexing Chant! This is also inspired by an item from Minecraft Dungeons, and can be crafted with a piece of Paper, 2 Wyvern Hearts, 2 Blastling Pearls and 4 Topaz Slivers. Using this item summons 3 Guardian Vexes, small little friendly vexes that will fight nearby enemies for you! While they do not have much health, they can slowly regenerate health while not in combat though will despawn after 2 minutes. Once again, it has durability and can be repaired using paper or Topaz Slivers.

These offcuts can be used to create a pretty strange new item, the Membrane of Eternity. Seemingly reminiscent of what the Immolators carry on their backs, this item can allow you to draw attack strength from nearby enemies and use it to your advantage to gain a strength increase! 2 of these and a Bismuth Shard will create a powerful new weapon, the Knife of Eternity, which will allow you to create your own Noxious bubbles that damage enemies on each hit!

With Everlasting Offcuts, you can make a new block called Immutable Slush. This doesn’t really serve any purpose outside of decoration, but the block is rather fragile, so if broken without a silk touch tool it will collapse back into the offcuts you made it from. Twisting Nebula doesn’t drop itself when mined, but instead you can craft some using 2 Everlasting Offcuts and 2 Ender Pearls, letting you put some anywhere you want!

You can even find a new weapon whilst looting some of these structures, the Void Striker! This is a sword you can infrequently find within chests of Corrupted Workshops, End Laboratories, Old End Towers, Deep End Chambers and more rarely Chorus Gardens, usually damaged a bit. It does a fair bit of damage on hit but more notably transfers the Noxious poison to anything you strike it with, dealing some extra damage which can be handy!

Expanding onto the updates with discs and fragments, you’ll be able to find the fragments for a new disc called dog in some of the End’s structures. If that disc sounds familiar to you, then you’ll be excited to combine those disc fragments together with a Pearl Ingot and play the disc! However due to limitations you’re not able to play the disc in a vanilla Jukebox, so instead I added a separate jukebox that you can craft from the normal one and vice versa which you must use to play it instead.

Be sure to install to enable experiments, if you do not then a majority of the blocks and items will not work properly, if at all!
There are 3 packages that respectively add features for each of the 3 dimensions and one that has them all in a single download, which can allow you to have a smaller file size if you only want Nether or End features for example, just download those! Or download “full” package if you don’t mind them all
