Wild Expansion - A Vanilla Biome Overhaul

Ever think the wild update was too mild? mad that the badlands, desert and savanna didn't win the vote? do you want the birch forest to be good? Don't fear, for I; Alylica, have restored the three removed biome votes and the scrapped birch forest update with my own twists too!

DO NOT, DISTRIBUTE THIS ADDON WITHOUT CREDIT, DO NOT CREATE YOUR OWN LINKS OR DOWNLOADS

Overlook :

Wild expansion aims to bring a vanilla style to four of Minecraft's most unique biomes, the arid desert, dangerous badlands, vast savanna's and of course the birch forest too!

The first three biomes were included in the Minecraft Biome Chooser.. but lost, meanwhile the birch forest was scrapped content for 1.19

I will not explain every single new feature in depth, you will have to explore to find them out!

But let's just get into the updates!

The Desert :

The original teaser for a desert update included Palm Trees & Meerkats but I wanted to step it up a little, the updated desert biome also includes Rattlesnakes as-well as some new ground decor

Palm Trees :

Palm trees will spawn in desert biomes, but not too commonly, it's no forest, they function exactly as any other wood does, with a snazzy green colouring to the planks too, also, all custom wood in this Addon is able to be found in the bonus chest!

Meerkats :

To be honest, meerkats don't really do much.. they spawn in deserts somewhat commonly and like to prowl around for fun

Rattlesnakes :

These may be hard to spot as they camouflage with their surrounding area! The rattlesnake spawns rarely in deserts and is actually quite dangerous, they will inflict a lethal poison on you if you attack them first, they also shed scales, these can be used for building blocks or to make a unique chest plate, said chest plate grants you immunity to poison effects

The Savanna :

The original teaser for a savanna update included Baobab Trees, Termites & Ostriches but via use of interpretation, the updated savanna biome also includes A Baobab Forest Sub-Biome

Baobab Trees :

These large trees require four saplings to grow! They are made of baobab wood (duh) which has a nice rosy colour on the inside, due to the large size of these trees they are not too common, unless you stumble across a baobab forest of course!

Termite Nests :

These nests generate across the savanna, when not using silk touch they can be a nice form of gathering soft materials like sand.. seems like none of the termites are home sadly 🙁

Ostriches :

Much like the meerkat, ostriches don't do much other than look derpy, but they do like to bury their heads in the dirt when bored, they spawn in savanna biomes if that wasn't obvious

Badlands :

The original teaser for a badlands update included Tumbleweeds, Fancy Cacti & Vultures but taking inspiration from real mesas, the updated badlands biome also includes Fossil Digging

Tumbleweeds :

"They don't call it the badlands for their good manners"

These balls of twigs are carried by perpetual physics defying winds, they will sometimes twist and turn around so don't think you're safe because it passed by you! they will definitely hurt to be hit by, though you can stop them in their tracks with water and also move them by punching them!

AD

Prickly Pear Cacti :

It's not all for show! Spawning rarely in the badlands, this fancy cactus has a crucial use for survival, when broken without silk touch it will release some prickly pears, it's not the most filling but after being eaten your hunger may not decrease for a while

Vultures :

Spooky Birds that spawn in the Mesa and steal your stuff? Not fun!

Avoid dying in the badlands, more then anywhere else atleast, if a vulture grabs your stuff it's not going to let go willingly!

Fossils :

When underground in the Badlands it's not just gold you will see! Between Y-50 to Y-8 you will find small fossil ores you can mine to collect fragments of a complete being, use these to rebuild the complete skeleton!

Birch Forests :

Birch forests aren't as conventional as the others, only being seen in scrapped concept art, my version includes Revamped Birch Trees, New Flowers & Mounted Fungi

New Trees :

Birch Trees will grow even taller now, they also feature some nice branches, These changes can be observed in those that grow from saplings too! Trees found in the birch forest specifically will be covered in mounted fungi, a unique block that can be placed on the bark of trees

New Flowers :

AD

The birch forest sees the introduction of new and old flowers

Many vanilla flowers now populate the forest floor and 4 new ones have appeared, the Blue Rose, Flower Patch, Snapdragon & Violet (The latter two being suggested by Rewby23) all now appear exclusively here, they can be used as dye like any other flower too

Thats all!

thanks for reading this long wall of info, this pack has taken me literally months to finish so I hope you all enjoy using it in your worlds! Have fun and let me know if any ideas or issues in the comments or in my Discord ( https://discord.gg/EXVb3zS83X )
