Minecraft Super Duper Graphics Pack- What we know so far.
So as i am sure as you are all aware, back in E3 2017, the Minecraft team announced 2 major things. One of them was cross-platform play with Mobile Devices, PCs and Consoles. We got the majority of that. But the other thing was the Super Duper Graphics pack.
What is the Super Duper Graphics Pack?
The Super Duper Graphics pack is the Minecraft team answer to shaders. For years the Minecraft team have seen shaders made by the community on both the Java and Bedrock communities. So the team decided to make their own shaders pack for the Bedrock Editions of the game. While this will be available on most devices, it will run the best on very high-end PCs and the Xbox One X.
The Super Duper Graphics pack will be a paid piece of DLC but once you buy one if you buy on your Xbox Live account, you will never have to buy it again. As long as you sign in with the same account.
The above image is a normal Minecraft farm with a demo of the Super Duper Graphics pack.
As you can see, there is a lot of differences between the Super Duper Graphics pack and the vanilla texture pack. The Super Duper Graphics Pack has a lot more detail on the items and blocks. As well as that, the blocks and items get a shade of detail from the sunlight bearing down on them.
In this image, you can really see how the detail really comes into play. The grass in the Super Duper Graphics Pack is MUCH more detailed then the normal grass we have today. The sun has gotten bigger and more round to give off more light for shadows as well. The llama has gotten some more details as well.
But when can I use this graphics pack in my world?

In the above clip, it was confirmed by Helen Angel on a stream with Gartzke and Jess that the Super Duper Graphics Pack is NOT coming out anytime soon. The developers are having to rewrite the entire graphics pipeline for the game. In case you don't know, the graphics pipeline is how the device renders from getting a 3D object onto a 2D screen. Since the developers are having to rewrite it all, this will take quite a bit of time to get right. DO NOT expect it for at least a few months.
If you would like to watch a video of 2 artists, Brad Shuber and Cameron Egbert talk about the Super Duper Graphics Pack, here is one for you. But please bear in mind that all the images are shown as well as the trailer was a demo version of the Super Duper Graphics Pack. This can 100% change between now and final release.
